To my dear Yogis,

                I want to thank you all for joining me in my journey as a Yoga instructor here at Renaissance.  I cannot put into words the gratitude I feel for the opportunity that you have given me to share something with you that is so dear to me.   Your patience and unconditional acceptance of my uncertainty during my personal growth has allowed me to become the instructor I am today and I cannot thank you enough. 

                I am sorry to say that I must move on to another chapter in my life as I feel that I have come to a plateau in my development as a yoga instructor.  I have taken my studio at Renaissance as far as I can at this point, and must immerse myself into a new environment to move on to my next level of growth as an instructor.  In moving into a new environment I can learn from other instructors and experience new Yogic styles which I can integrate into my own style of teaching.

                So, in trying to balance my personal responsibilities, other responsibilities that I have with Renaissance, as well as needing time to meet with possible employers, as of now, I will be offering classes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays only.  As soon as I have finalized where I will be teaching, I will let you all know, and if anyone is interested in private classes, I will try to accommodate as best I can.

                Having to end my time with you at Renaissance will be extremely difficult because it was so special to me.  You have all touched my life in ways that you will never know. I know that if I cannot teach you in another place, that there will come a time when we will grow together again.  I loved our time together and it is with sincerest gratitude that I say to you all “Namaste”.

Class descriptions

 

Hatha:
Hatha, meaning willful or forceful, refers to a set of physical exercises known as "Asana" or postures which, when done in sequence align your skin, muscles, and bones. The postures are designed to open channels within the body (especially the spine) so that energy can flow freely. Hatha yoga is a powerful tool for self transformation; it brings attention to breathing, and helps one focus their thoughts and control commotion within the mind.

Vinyasa:
For those interested in Yoga for health and fitness, or the spiritual benefits, Vinyasa flow can provide both. Synchronous breathing with strong flowing movements combine for a high energy workout. Joints unwind, muscles are released, and energy flows throughout the body. Through this practice an individual can expect to build strength, flexibility, and mental focus, with the final result being a release of tension.
